Terms of Service & Acceptable Use Policy

Effective date: 24 March 2026

1. Agreement to These Terms

By purchasing, downloading, installing, or using any MultiLang software, services, or add-ons (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you ("Customer") and MultiLang ("we", "us", "our"), operated at versa.multilang.shop.

2. Description of Services

MultiLang provides a WordPress multilingual plugin and associated infrastructure, including:

  • Plugin license keys (Free, Pro, Agency tiers)
  • A license management server and customer portal
  • An optional managed Translation API Key add-on
  • Priority support add-on

Features available to you depend on your active subscription tier and any purchased add-ons.

3. Subscriptions and Billing

3.1 Subscription Model

All paid plans are billed on a monthly recurring basis. By subscribing, you authorise us to charge your payment method automatically each billing period until you cancel.

3.2 Cancellation

You may cancel at any time from your customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are issued for partial months except where required by applicable law or our 30-day money-back guarantee for first-time subscribers.

3.3 Price Changes

We may change pricing with 30 days' written notice by email. Continued use after the notice period constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.

3.4 Failed Payments

If a payment fails, we will retry up to three times over seven days. If payment remains outstanding, your license will be suspended until the balance is cleared.

4. Managed Translation API Key Add-on

4.1 What the Add-on Provides

The managed Translation API Key add-on (the "API Add-on") provides you with access to a Google Cloud Translation API key managed and paid for by MultiLang. This allows your WordPress site to perform automatic translations without requiring you to create or manage your own Google Cloud project.

4.2 Fair Use and Monthly Limits

The API Add-on is provided under a fair use policy. Your subscription tier includes an expected monthly translation volume as follows:

Plan Monthly character limit
Pro with API Add-on 500,000 characters
Agency with API Add-on 2,000,000 characters

These limits represent fair use thresholds, not hard technical caps. We reserve the right to adjust these thresholds with 14 days' notice.

4.3 Usage Reporting

The MultiLang plugin installed on your WordPress site reports translation usage to our license server each time a translation is performed. This reporting is used to:

  • Monitor usage against your fair use threshold
  • Detect anomalous or suspicious usage patterns
  • Protect the integrity of the service for all customers

By using the API Add-on, you consent to this usage data being collected and stored on our servers.

4.4 Prohibited Conduct — Tampering with Usage Reporting

The following actions are strictly prohibited and constitute a material breach of these Terms:

  • Modifying, disabling, bypassing, or interfering with the usage reporting functionality of the plugin
  • Deleting, resetting, or manipulating the WordPress database options used to track translation usage
  • Decompiling, reverse engineering, or modifying the plugin for the purpose of circumventing usage limits
  • Using automated tools, scripts, or other means to reset or falsify usage counters
  • Sharing, distributing, or reselling access to the managed API key
  • Using the managed API key outside of the plugin's intended translation functionality

4.5 Detection and Flags

Our systems automatically monitor usage patterns for anomalies that may indicate tampering, including but not limited to:

  • Usage reporting stopping entirely while the license remains active
  • Usage counters resetting outside of normal monthly billing cycles
  • Character counts inconsistent with the volume of translations performed
  • Sustained zero-usage reporting from an active site with translation features enabled

When our systems detect a potential anomaly, a flag is raised and we investigate. Some flags require manual review by us before any action is taken.

4.6 Consequences of Tampering

If we determine, in our reasonable discretion, that usage reporting has been tampered with:

  • First confirmed incident: written warning issued by email; license may be temporarily suspended pending your response
  • Second confirmed incident: license suspended immediately; overage charges calculated and invoiced (see clause 4.7)
  • Third confirmed incident or non-payment of overage charges: license permanently revoked with no refund

We will always notify you by email before taking enforcement action and provide a reasonable opportunity to respond, except where immediate suspension is necessary to prevent ongoing harm to our infrastructure.

4.7 Overage Charges

Where we determine that actual translation usage exceeded your fair use threshold due to tampering with usage reporting, we will calculate the overage based on Google Cloud Translation API's published list pricing at the time of the usage, plus a 30% administration fee.

Overage invoices are due within 14 days of issue. Failure to pay constitutes a further breach of these Terms and may result in debt collection proceedings.

By agreeing to these Terms, you acknowledge that overage charges are a genuine pre-estimate of our loss and agree that they are reasonable and enforceable.

4.8 Zero-Usage Manual Review

If your account shows zero reported translation usage for 30 or more consecutive days while the API Add-on is active, we may place a manual review flag on your account. We will contact you by email to verify that the plugin is functioning correctly. Failure to respond within 14 days may result in suspension of the API Add-on pending investigation.

5. License to Use the Plugin

Subject to your compliance with these Terms and payment of applicable fees, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the plugin on the number of WordPress sites permitted by your subscription tier.

You may not sublicense, sell, resell, transfer, assign, or otherwise commercially exploit the plugin or your license key. License keys are personal to your account and must not be shared.

6. General Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Violate any applicable law or regulation
  • Infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party
  • Transmit malicious code, viruses, or harmful data
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or its related systems
  • Use the Service in any way that could damage our reputation or business

7. Intellectual Property

The plugin, server software, documentation, and all related materials are owned by MultiLang and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. These Terms do not transfer any ownership rights to you.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MultiLang shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.

Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed the total fees paid by you to us in the three months preceding the claim.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service immediately and without notice if you breach these Terms. On termination, your license to use the plugin ceases and you must delete all copies.

Clauses that by their nature should survive termination (including clauses 4.6, 4.7, 7, and 8) will survive termination of these Terms.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Sweden. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Sweden, without prejudice to your rights as a consumer under applicable local law.
